“Even Angels Cry” – an angel of the Weeping Willow Series

This piece is unlike the others I’ve made. It’s smaller in size, yet somehow heavier with emotion. It was created at the request of a follower who lost her mom far too soon.

She chose the title, without even realizing it was perfect: “Even Angels Cry.”

Her words:

“Sometimes life doesn’t always go as planned. Trauma, Mental Health & other issues lead to Addiction. Our Mom struggled during her short life. We always knew we were loved & that was “Always the Most Important Thing to Us”.

Every moment of our lives we know we were loved. That love continues & never fades because I believe strongly she continues to Love & Guide us from Heaven Even Angels cry…”

This sculpture is not just metal. It’s grief. It’s love. It’s the ache of loss—and the comfort of knowing that even when someone leaves this world too soon, their love never does.

Weeping Willow’s Fractured Heart

Weeping Willow’s Factured Heart is a commissioned sculpture based on my original Weeping Willow sculpture. A heart can be found on her inner left wrist and in the palm of her hand she holds an angel feather.

Weeping Willow’s Sorrow

Weeping Willow’s Family Tree

Weeping Willow’s Family Tree was a commissioned sculpture , created to sit on the deck at a local Cafe. The tree contains the initials of all the family of the buyer. Standing approx. 12ft tall, containing nearly 1500 stainless steel leaves cut from old Bbq lids . This was also a collaboration with my son who added the bark texture and cut out all the leaves. A special part of this sculpture is the addition of the little fairy on the swing. Created by local artist Shannon Elder using a few leaves from the tree as wings and created using paverpohl. She even has a tiny Weeping Willow heart necklace.

Weeping Willow’s Overwhelmed -the broken people

Overwhelmed is just that. There are people that have to deal with illness , addictions, stress etc. But there are those who love them and carry the weight of the world, who despite everything keep life moving forward. This is my uncle, my father, my friend, myself. The pose shows it all. The wings, with over 1400 flame coloured leaves, strong and bold, guarding, forming a heart shape. Within this angel is a Weeping Willow Heart painted teal representing ovarian cancer, a tiny ladybug for the memory of an artist friend. She got to see this added but sadly passed before the completion of this sculpture. She is forever remembered and a part of this series and an influence in my art and life.
